Made it back to Texas, safe and sound. It was an amazing trip in Vietnam, I really feel like we did a lot of good working with the orphanages that we did. I'm going to be unpacking a lot of my thoughts and memories about the trip in the upcoming days, so be sure to check out my missions blog, Glocal Kyle.
Things are going well since I've been home, I've rested a bunch. But that isn't necessarily a good thing. I'm having a hard time getting back on the Texas time schedule. Dang jet lag! Vietnam is on the opposite timezone from Texas, meaning when it is 6am here it is 6pm there so when I should be asleep I am wide awake! It has been such a pain. The last two nights I've been up until 5am, however I have a nice nap in the middle of the day. I know I need to fight going to sleep, but its just hard! I've been so lazy since I got back.
My friends and I have a indoor soccer game tonight so that should make me real tired so I can get some sleep tonight! Let's hope it works! If it doesn't, then know that you can call me in the middle of the night this week, without the risk of me being dead tired and spouting off incoherent sentences.

New Toy at Camp
So I got a new toy. As many of you know I love video. I love filming stuff and editing video. It just captures so much more life than a photo. Sure it is easier to pick up a photo and post it on your wall, but I still think having a DVD that you can watch on your TV is so much more fun. To see your memories in motion. So I recently made a purchase to make sure I always had video capabilities at my disposal. I didn't want a digital camera that took video, because the lens on a digital camera is not meant for video. But I wanted the convenience of the size of a digital camera, something that I could be carrying in my pocket and just pull out and film. Camcorders don't have that capability. I have to have a special bag to hold it so that it doesn't get damaged. The I found out about these digital media recorders that are hand held. So I bought one. They're not too expensive. I bought mine for $150. It's called a Pure Digital Flip Ultra. I really wanted it for my trip to Vietnam coming up so I can do video blogs and get quick video of the orphans we'll be working with. So below I've posted my first ever video blog, and another video which is the first of a series that Micah and I are putting together here at camp entitled "The Chronicles of the Headbutter" so I hope you enjoy my new toy as much as I enjoy it!

Camp and Vietnam
All this week at the church we've been getting ready for camp which kicks off next week. I can't wait to get there. Camp is always such a great experience for our students as well as for our staff. We are so pumped! But also weighing heavily on my mind this week is my trip to Vietnam which is coming up fast! When I get back from camp I have a week of rest then I'm on a plane to Vietnam for our trip (June 29th). All of it is so exciting and I am so ready for it. If you are wanting to keep up more with what God is doing in my life around the world and in our community please check out my "Glocal Kyle" blog (glocalkyle.blogspot.com). I just posted our trip itinerary and a prayer guide that will get you involved in our trip this summer! So I encourage you to help me and the other members of this trip by praying for us while we're over there! Thanks, and as always if you want to give me a call and ask any questions about what God is doing in my life or what we'll be doing in Vietnam I would be more than happy to answer that for you!

Mafia Madness
So the other night while watching the amazing cinema achievement that is Rush Hour 3 (do I need to mention I was being sarcastic) we got to talking about the Triads and the Yakuza (the Chines and Japanese mafia) which got us on the subject of the Mafia, which got us on the subject of the game Mafia. Josh and I discussed that we needed to get a massive game of mafia going. And it began, we got the teams together. The game is a three month long water gun fight that can happen anywhere at anytime. You're never safe! It has been a blast so far, and so far I've had a couple near deaths, but I haven't been killed yet.
I'm sure I'll blog more about it over the next few months.
